Obviously, bait boats are massively controversial for me, and the angling that I do. I go to a whole host of different venues at home and also abroad. Some venues don’t allow them; some venues do allow them. Now, for me, having one in the van or at home and knowing I’ve got one to use can be a massive, massive edge, certainly if you’re going to big waters or you’re going to waters that are bait boat dominated. I’ve certainly been in situations myself where, if I’d known I’d had a bait boat with me, it would have definitely helped me catch a few extra carp. And let’s be honest, in this day and age, everybody loves a gadget.

And let me tell you, it is an absolutely fantastic kit. First and foremost, when it comes to the hoppers, something that amazed me, which I know is probably been around for ages, is I can drop the hoppers individually. So, it means I can take two rods out with the aid of the divide in the middle, drop the left, drop the middle, come back, and then drop the right. So, it saves time. You’ve got speed settings on here as well. So, if you need to get that boat out through strong winds or you want to get them out in double quick time, you can make it go nice and quick. But when you hit that return to home button, it can trundle back nice and slow, which gives you enough time to get your other rod ready to rock and roll. You’ve also got optional lights. So, obviously, in the day, you don’t need them, but at night, you need your headlights on there. You’ve got a fish finder. It’s obviously got an echo sounder, so it not only allows you to find the fish, but also shows the topography of the lake and also what that lake bed feels like. And it has got a sort of a home point, autopilot, and GPS, where you can set a multitude of different spots in as well. Now, like I say, I probably haven’t explored half of the features that this boat has to offer, but it has been absolutely bang on for me and for my angling.

The boat itself comes supplied as standard with this nice camouflage rucksack here, which means taking it to and from your swim couldn’t be any easier. You haven’t got to try and rest it on your barrack; you can simply chuck it on your back, trundle it to your peg, and you’re ready to rock and roll. It comes with two batteries supplied as standard, 10 amp power, but it’s also upgraded 20 amp power batteries. For example, I’ve been here now for two nights; I’ve caught seven carp so far, probably done 20 drops with this boat at a little over 100 yards, and the 10 amp power batteries have still got just under half of the charge left in them. So, there’s plenty of capacity in those batteries to last this boat a good 48-72 hour session. But here’s the good thing.
